Call before you dig

ATTENTION: Effective June 26, 2013, all locates for Erie Thames Powerlines must be logged through Ontario One Call (ON1CALL). Planning to dig on the property around your business? Before you or your contractor start work, call Erie Thames Powerlines to assess your land to ensure you will not be digging in areas that hold underground power lines. Digging through power lines is extremely dangerous and can cause serious injuries. Please contact Erie Thames Powerlines' customer service department for assistance.

Please note that Erie Thames Powerlines is only checking your land for the location of power lines.

Contact your local telephone and cable provider, gas utility, and municipality for assesments on the placement of telephone and cable lines, hydro cables, and gas and water pipes. Hvaving your utilities thoroughly checked before you dig is the law under Section 228 of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Ensure the digging involved in your next project doesn't interfere with the supply of power to your business. Avoid inconveniences and delays by submitting your request at least five business days before beginning to dig or excavate on your property. Simply fill out our online Request for Locate form and submit it electronically to us. We'll take care of the rest of the details and arrange for the Erie Thames Powerlines crew to visit your property to locate your power lines.
